Italy caught Germany on a bad night.
The Azzuri were on the end of a 4-1 pasting in a friendly between the pair in Munich on Tuesday night
Toni Kroos opened the scoring for the world champions with a well placed shot from the edge of the penalty area.
Before Mario Goetze doubled Germany’s lead.
Jonas Hector made it three, after some wonderful build-up play, and some uncharacteristic haphazard Italian defending.
Mesut Ozil scored Germany’s fourth, before Stephan El Shaarawy grabbed an equaliser for Antonio Conte’s side.
In fairness, Italy, the world champions are capable of doing this to anyone. Well, except the Republic of Ireland, who were undefeated against Germany in their two games in Euro 2016 qualifying.
Ireland’s other Euro 2016 opponents, Belgium and Sweden, also failed to win on Tuesday evening.
The Swedes were held to a 1-1 draw by the Czech Republic, while Belgium lost 2-1 to Portugal, with Nani and Cristiano Ronaldo on the scoresheet.
