Gary Neville is a big fan of Jack Wilshere’s anti-Spurs chant.

During Arsenal’s FA Cup celebrations at the end of last season, Jack Wilshere grabbed the mic and lead a chant with fans that cost him £40,000.

Despite receiving a lot of backlash for encouraging the fans to liken their rival club to excrement, Gary Neville thinks Wilshere’s punishment was extremely harsh. The Sky Sports pundit and former Manchester United man told Sport Magazine that he was genuinely impressed with Wilshere over the incident.

“When Jack Wilshere swore on a bus ride, I actually thought it was one of the best things I’ve seen from a football player in the past five or 10 years.

“If I was a manager of players that all had that passion… Alright, they’d obviously been out the night before. But the reality of it is we cry out for players to have passion, and yet we are quite critical of them when they display passion.”
