If you just followed Gary Neville and Jamie Carragher on social media, you could do a lot worse for your entertainment value online.
There once was a time, after both men had retired, when we all wondered how the on-pitch hostility between the former Manchester United right back and former Liverpool centre-half would translate to the Sky Sports studio as news emerged that Carragher and Neville were to play a vital role in the broadcaster’s Premier League coverage going forward.
Luckily, for all of us, they sparked up the kind of on-screen piss-takey chemistry that has since made them must-watch television every time they share the Sky Pad for Monday Night Football.
Both Neville and Carragher have also upped their social media game to the point that it’s worth immediately checking Neville’s Twitter every time Liverpool suffer an embarrassing defeat, with the same going for Carragher’s in the wake of United loss.
If we’re being honest (and this is coming from a United fan), Carragher has taken the lead in the banter race.
Whether it was his reaction to Neville’s appointment as Valencia manager in late 2015…
Gutted! This reminds me of when Pegguy Arphexad left for Coventry.

Or his reaction to Cesare Prandelli’s decision to leave Valencia six months since Neville’s sacking…
Not even the younger Neville brother was safe…

And sometimes football had absolutely nothing to do with the trolling as Carragher took a pop at Neville’s looks.
And that’s exactly the category that the most recent piece of abuse falls into as Neville thought he was safe enough in just going for a haircut…
Cold-BLOODED…
