Gary Neville has been named Valencia head coach

Gary Neville has a new gig.

Valencia CF have confirmed that the former Manchester United man will take charge of the side this week until the end of the season.

Neville will begin from December 6, ahead of the club’s UEFA Champions League match against Olympique Lyonnais on Wednesday 9 December

President of Valencia, Chan Lay Hoon admitted he is looking forward to the prospect of working with Neville.

“We are delighted to have been able to have Gary as quickly. He is a person who combines technical expertise as part of the coaching staff of the England team and a brilliant playing career at Manchester United and his team.”

Gary Neville also admitted relishing the opportunity of managing the La Liga outfit, where his younger brother Phil is a coach

 “I am excited and I am proud to have received this huge opportunity with Valencia Football Club. It is a huge club, of immense prestige and I remember well from my time as a player, the passion and loyalty of their fans. “

“I’m looking forward to working with them, I know it’s a group of very talented players. I am very excited about the challenge that lies ahead together. “

The new coach will appear tomorrow in Press Conference with President Chan Lay Hoon, at 4 pm (3pm GMT) at the Mestalla.
