Gareth Bale’s agent won’t rule out Premier League return for soon-to-be ‘best player in the world’

Should we start those Manchester United links now in time for January?

Gareth Bale’s agent has admitted that, hopefully, the Welsh man will see out his career in Real Madrid…

But that doesn’t interest any of us.

Crucially – CRUCIALLY – he hasn’t ‘ruled out’ a return to the Premier League for the former Spurs attacker. What a sneaky little sh*t.

It seemed that Bale couldn’t blink last season without some sign of unrest or itchy feet and, of course, with cash-happy Manchester United lining up bids for 314 different players all at once, it was only inevitable that Gareth Bale would come to Old Trafford as well.

And it still is. Right?

Well, according to Jonathan Barnett, all the paper talk in the summer was rubbish and Bale was never going anywhere. It still doesn’t mean he won’t ‘pull a Ramos’ and drum up more money for himself and his player in Spain.

“Why would he want to leave? Real are the greatest club in the world,” his agent spoke at a conference in Manchester before making sure he didn’t close any doors.

“He is 26, he has the best years of his life to come. I’m not going to rule out a return to the Premier League, but he’s contracted to Madrid for a few more years and hopefully he’ll stay for the rest of his career.”

But you did say you wouldn’t rule out a return to the Premier League. Right? Right?

The same boy reckons that Bale is ‘almost level’ with Cristiano Ronaldo and that he’ll soon be recognised as the greatest on the planet.

“I think in the next two or three years I think he’s going to be seen as the best player in the world,” Barnett said. “He wants to win the Ballon d’Or and I think he’s got a great chance. You have [Cristiano] Ronaldo, who is getting to the end of his career, and [Lionel] Messi as well.”

Enough jibber-jabber. Where did we land on those United links?
