Gareth Bale’s Real Madrid career has been hit and miss, but one of his most memorable goals came against the club’s fiercest rivals.

The Welshman scored a fantastic solo effort to win the 2014 Copa Del Rey final against Barcelona.

And he has opened up about the strike in an interview with Bwin.

“It’s definitely up there with my favourite goals of my career,” the former Spurs man said.

Speaking ahead of the first Clasico of the season in La Liga, Bale suggested Madrid have “a few gears to go up.”

“I think we can still perform better, play better, and hopefully as the season goes on our form improves all the time and hopefully that leads us to winning the league,” he said.

The 2014 Champions League winners currently sit second in the table, three points behind leaders Barcelona.
