European giants Bayern Munich will have an extra €25 million a year to buy players after repaying loan 16 years early.
The German club will have a staggering amount more in the transfer kitty next season after paying off the cost of building the Allianz Arena ludicrously early. Munich’s CEO Karl-Heinz Rummenigge confirmed the news to the Bundesliga outfit’s official magazine.
We have financed the entire stadium privately.
For that we took exactly €346m into our hands in 2005 with a financing plan to 2030 – so 25 years. Now we have paid off the stadium completely after nine and a half years.
This means that Bayern Munich will now have even more to strengthen their squad (as if it needs much strengthening). A very scary thought when you look at the depth in their current squad.
Bayern Munich’s squad depth is amazing. Their 2nd XI would beat the majority of Premier League teams… pic.twitter.com/tYbGOpxVCb

Surely, wanting any more superstars would be just being greedy.
