The last 12 months saw some absolute pearlers from Irish folk all over the globe
We enjoyed an awful lot of goals in 2014, and quite a few of our absolute favourites came via the boot of Irish players. So, without further ado, and in no particular order, here they are.
John O’Shea v Germany
Okay, we lied, this is definitely our favourite, chiefly because it made us scream like lunatics in the office when it hit the net. For drama it is hard to beat, but the flick by Hendrick is bloody sensational and the deft finish by O’Shea isn’t too shabby either. One of 2014’s sporting highlights.

Chris Forrester v Drogheda
The St Pat’s man scores from somewhere nearer to Dundalk. What a strike.
Robbie Keane v Chivas
The reigning King of LA (sorry Kobe) had a wonderful year in the MLS, bagging a hatful but it is this goal that we appreciated the most, a very classy nutmeg and chip in the SuperClasico.
Daryl Murphy v Brighton
All about the technique.
Aiden McGeady v Georgia
Almost as enjoyable as the O’Shea goal, and definitely more skilful. Could be just as vital in our bid for Euro 2016 too.

Colin Healy v St Pat’s
You don’t get many overhead volley last-minute winners so this had to go in. We love the fan footage too.

Jack Byrne v Bayern Munich U19s
You will be hearing a lot more about this Irish underage star in 2015. This was one of his best goals this year, against Bayern in the U19s Champions League.
Seamus Coleman v QPR
Way back in the FA Cup third round the Donegal man proved his finishing skills were top class with this fine strike.
Robbie Brady v USA
The Hull man has a wand of a left peg. More of this in 2015 please.
