Frank Lampard responds to stop crying song from Leeds fans

Jack O'Toole

Derby County manager Frank Lampard has said that the Leeds United chant directed at him is only a bit of fun.

Leeds fan came up with a brilliant edit of Oasis hit Stop Crying Your Heart Out with the lilywhite fans poking fun at Lampard for complaining about Leeds manager Marcelo Bielsa’s spying earlier this season.

The lyrics to the chant are as follows:

“Cos all of the spies have faded away, Try not to worry , you’ll beat us some day We beat you at home and we beat you away Stop crying Frank Lampard.”

Lampard took the chant in jest and fired back at the Leeds fans with their extended absence from the Premier League with the Yorkshire club looking to win their way back into the top flight of English football for the first time since 2004.

“No, of course not, it is good fun,” Lampard said of the chant.

“As a Chelsea player, there was a rivalry always with Leeds. We didn’t play them that much because we were in the Premier League, but that comes with it.

“I will take a song all day long. My worry is what the players do on the pitch.”

Leeds defeated Derby 1-0 in the first leg of their play-off with the second leg set for Wednesday at Elland Road.
