Heurelho Gomes has sent out a warning beacon to footballers everywhere, advising them not to move to White Hart Lane.
The Watford keeper, who spent six years with the North London club, hit out at Spurs over there treatment of Paulinho. The Brazilian international has played just 15 games for Tottenham this season, and Gomes reckons the blame should fall on the club.
“It’s the club (who are to blame). Certainly, I would not recommend to anyone (to join Spurs).”
He continued his anti-Tottenham tirade by citing other examples of big name players who just haven’t cut it at Spurs.
“They paid £28million for Soldado, and they don’t play him. Or look (at) Lamela, who was a great (prospect) in Europe, but today you watch Tottenham games and he looks like he can’t play football at all.”
Gomes is set to face his old club next season, Watford were promoted to the Premier League. It will be interesting to see what sort of reception he’ll get from the Spurs faithful when the two sides clash, after these comments.
