Jamie Carragher not convinced Ryan Giggs wants the Swansea job

Does anybody want the job?

It has only been a couple of hours but a clear frontrunner is emerging for the recently vacated managerial position at Swansea City.

Former USA national team coach, Bob Bradley, has been sacked from his managerial position at Swansea.

Bradley, who took over from Francesco Guidolin in October, endured a terrible run of form in short tenure with the club, one which consisted of seven losses in eleven games.

Bradley, who was only in charge of the club for 85 days, was swiftly relieved of his duties as pressure began to mount over the last couple of weeks, pressure which culminated in a 4-1 drubbing at the hands of West Ham.

Now it is emerging that the man who was pipped to the post by Bradley, when the position became open back in October, is the clear front-runner for the newly opened position.

Former Manchester United legend, Ryan Giggs, is the clear favourite with the bookies to take over at the Liberty Stadium.

However, Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher, believes that the Giggs may not even want the job due to the club’s dire position in the Premier League table and their decision to sell some of their best players.

“I think the Swansea thing goes back further than this now,” Carragher told SkySports.

“I couldn’t believe Swansea sold Ashley Williams in the summer. I tipped them to go down solely because of that. I don’t know if Ryan Giggs is available – or if he’d want to go there.”

It will be interesting to see whether Giggs is interested in the job or not, having been overlooked for the position initially.

Either way, Swansea’s American owners will be keen to get someone in as soon as possible as the club need to make some purchases in the January transfer window if they are to avoid relegation.
