Sad news just in.
Liverpool legend Ron Yeats has passed away aged 86, after being diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease in January.
The ex-Scotland defender helped Liverpool win the Second Division title in 1962 under Bill Shankly, going on to win the FA Cup and the Charity Shield three times, in a run that helped make Liverpool one of the biggest clubs in the country.

The thoughts of everyone at Liverpool Football Club are with Ron’s family and friends.
He played for the club 454 times, with more than 400 of those as captain. Only Steven Gerrard has beat this record.
Liverpool released a statement following the news of his passing.
“Liverpool FC is mourning the passing of legendary former captain Ron Yeats,” it read.
“In the words of Bill Shankly, a ‘colossus’ in club history.
“The thoughts of everyone at LFC are with Ron’s wife, Ann, all of his family and his friends at this incredibly sad time.”
The club will lower its flags at Anfield and their training ground to half mast as a mark of respect.
