Leinster House could probably use a dose of straight talk from Brian Kerr.
The former Republic of Ireland manager has rejected the chance at a political career after saying no to a reported approach from nascent party Renua.
The new political outfit, led by former Fine Gael minister Lucinda Creighton, are believed to have asked Kerr to consider contesting next year’s General Election in the Dublin South Central constituency where he made his name during a decade in charge of Inchicore club St Patrick’s Athletic.
However, according to the Irish Sun, Kerr, currently working as a television pundit for TV3, has turned down the offer, telling the newspaper: “I’m not talking about anything to do with politics.”
