David Moyes was quickly installed as the odds on favourite to replace Sherwood, but it seems that behind the scenes the wheels have already been turning with former Lyon manager Remi Garde in advanced talks to take the Villa hotseat, according to Canal+.

You may remember Garde from his playing days at Arsenal - he was signed by Arsene Wenger in 1996 and spent three years as a squad player at Highbury.
