This has gone down very badly with football fans.
Wexford Youth won’t care now after they claimed the FAI Women’s Cup this afternoon with a penalty shoot-out win over Shelbourne in the Aviva.
The game ended 2-2 after 120 minutes with Wexford taking the title for the first time in a shoot out 4-2.
However the manner in how the shoot out was handled with the men’s final between Cork City and Dundalk looming at 3.30 has upset a lot of football fans at the stadium this afternoon.
Because the women’s game went to extra time and penaltys it meant that Dundalk ended up warming up at the opposite goal to where the shoot-out was taking place.

It seemed a bizarre situation and many fans were not happy
@FAIreland Very disrespectful, men warming up before ladies match is over, well done Wexford Youths

The absolute embarrassment of the senior men's teams allowed on the Aviva pitch as Wexford & Shelbourne women were preparing for shootout.

That's bad manners with the mens teams out warming up on the pitch while the penoes are about to happen #FAICupFinal #Wexford #manners

@TheOneRam @shelslfc @fai sounds like it, fair dues to Ger Canning for highlighting it! Fantastic game in those conditions
