Radamel Falcao certainly picked the right club to put in a series of lacklustre performances.
Chelsea are experiencing a disastrous season, struggling in the bottom-half of the table, having surrendered their league crown by Halloween and sacking former manager Jose Mourinho.
However, with a host of high profile players, such as Eden Hazard, Cesc Fabregas and, well basically every Chelsea player except Willian, underperforming, Falcao has fit right in.
The former Atletico Madrid striker was once among the most feared forward players in the world, but has struggled desperately in English football.Last season’s woes at Manchester United have continued this year at Stamford Bridge. The Colombian has just one goal in 11 games and has been injured since October.
It now looks like the on-loan Monaco striker will be injured for the rest of January, meaning Chelsea could be saddled with him until the end of the season.
The club were reportedly open to sending the 29 year old back to the Ligue 1 club. However, Monaco have the final say on cancelling the deal, and are unlikely to want to take back an expensive, injured player.
This looks set to cost Chelsea £3.3 million, £140,000 a week – the cost of Falcao’s wages for the rest of the season.
