First ever female Balon d’Or winner tells Martin Solveig where to go after he asks can she twerk

Niall McIntyre

Proper order.

Lyon and Norway striker Ada Hegerberg won the first ever female Balon d’Or award on Monday night. The 23-year-old was on fire for Lyon all the way through the season, scoring a goal in their champions League final win and she rounded off her year of years by being crowned the player of the year at the award ceremony in Paris.

It was announced last year that there would be an award for the best female footballer of the year and there were few arguments when the Norwegian took home the award for the first time in its history.

There was some controversy to follow, however.

Upon her arrival to the stage, French DJ Martin Solveig – who was for some reason involved in the presentation – asked her does she know how to twerk.

‘Est-ce que tu sais twerker?’

She responded with a swift no and won many admirers because of it.
