File on Bielsa’s desktop lets slips Leeds’ interest in gem of a winger

There was much to take in from Marcelo Bielsa’s press briefing on Wednesday.

There had been initial and eventually incorrect reports that Bielsa may have in fact been intending to resign from his post as Leeds United manager, but in the end the Argentine coach gathered journalists for the sole purpose of getting the whole ‘spygate‘ controversy out of the way before his weekly presser on Thursday.

As part of the proceedings, Bielsa showed journalists just how in-depth his scouting of the opposition is with possibly the most exciting and funny PowerPoint presentation that has ever taken place.

Over the course of roughly an hour, Bielsa illustrated how detailed his scouting of the opposition is, from detailed analysis of each player’s minutes played, to admitting that he had watched the training sessions of “all opponents”.

Bielsa had all the bases covered at the briefing, or at least that seemed the case until one Twitter user noticed a very specific video file on Bielsa’s desktop.

That video file was entitled “20 JAMES WIN SWANSEA.mp4” – something social media users understandably believe relates to Swansea City’s winger Daniel James, a player who has been strongly linked with a move to Elland Road.

Recent speculation has suggested that Leeds would be willing to part with as much as £20 million for the youngster, who has impressed in five Championship performances this season.

The existence of this file would suggest that James is definitely a target for Leeds.

Or, perhaps, Bielsa is once again trolling everyone and in fact has a totally different – previously unknown – target up his sleeve.
