Walter De Gregario knows how to jump off of a sinking ship in style.
Hours after U.S. authorities arrested a plethora of FIFA officials on corruption charges in the Zurich hotel raid, communications director Walter De Gregorio faced the media on behalf of FIFA.
A fortnight after that hastily organised press conference, De Gregorio has announced his resignation from FIFA. His announcement comes just two days after he went on the Swiss TV show Schawinski and cracked wise over his former employers.
“Fifa president Sepp Blatter, the media director, and the general secretary are sitting in a car, who is driving?
The police!”
What a way to bow out.
