He is not short of options after seeing out his Atletico Madrid career in style.
Four days after lifting the Europa League trophy, his first major honour for the club, Fernando Torres scored a brace in a 2-2 draw with Eibar before he waved goodbye to his adoring fans.
The Spanish forward is currently a free agent after seeing out his contract with his boyhood club and several managers are interested in snapping him up.
Rafael Benitez was linked with a reunion with Torres at Newcastle while massively optimistic Rangers supporters felt like Steven Gerrard might just be able to convince the 34-year-old to take a significant pay cut to join him at Ibrox.
The most likely destinations for Torres, however, always remained China or the United States.

And it would appear that negotiations are well underway to see him become Chicago Fire’s third designated player, along with Bastian Schweinsteiger and Nemanja Nikolic.
Fox Sports MX’s Ricardo Garcia Ochoa has claimed that his “very reliable sources” have informed him that Torres is on the verge of signing a deal with the MLS club.
If pen is put to paper on the move, Torres wouldn’t be eligible to join the Fire until July 10, when the MLS summer transfer window opens up.
