Fed-up Mayo man puts Memphis Depay up for sale on DoneDeal

What an offer!

Kevin McGillicuddy

We may very well have come across how footballers could be sold in the future.

Everyone knows that it is becoming easier and easier to buy everything online, from cars to your weekly shop, so why not footballers?

Well, it seems one Manchester United fan in Mayo is trying to start a trend as he has put one of the club’s disappointing summer signings up for sale via Donedeal.ie.

Oh, and the ad is in the ‘Lost and Found section, to add even more insult.

The seller, who goes by the name of ‘Ronan knows best’ hasn’t put a price on the ex-PSV man, and perhaps his sales description explains why.

“Lost at Manchester Airport, Found by United, Lost again on the pitch every time he plays. In desperate need of a new home. Please someone take this young man and put him to good use, maybe as a lollipop man? Price negotiable, if you have a kind heart please don’t hesitate to take him! If you are reluctant on this deal no worries, Fellaini comes with him for free!”

28 days and counting, and still no bid for poor Memphis. If you do want to be the one to offer the Dutch winger a new home, then you can view the full ad here.
