FAI confirm exactly when Irish fans will know if they have got tickets for the Euros or not

The wait is nearly over

Never before have we checked and re-checked our bank balance online as much as this week.

That’s because we heard rumour upon rumour that today, whatever day that was, could be the day that UEFA would start debiting lucky account holders who had secured golden tickets for Euro 2016.

Earlier this week 29,000 Northern Ireland fans managed to get their hands on some tickets, and now Republic of Ireland fans know when to expect staff in Zurich to start processing our applications.

The FAI confirmed this evening that Friday morning will see UEFA begin the payment process for our group games.

As you know at this stage, if you used a debit card to apply, it is vital that you have sufficient funds in your account to make sure the transactions got through.

If you don’t hear anything tomorrow it does not automatically mean that you have been passed over for a chance to see the Boys in Green this summer, as it is likely to be a number of days before the full allocation of tickets is handed out.
