Rex Secco, don’t remember the name.
There was some confusion on Twitter on Sunday when “Rex Secco” began trending after reports circulated that Arsenal had shelled out £34m on the youngster.
Fear not Gooners, we can confirm that the story was completely made up by a select group of Twitter users. However, the joke really began to build momentum quickly.
Arsenal are famously the only club in Europe’s top 5 leagues to not sign an outfield player this summer. It is thought that the Twitter accounts started the joke because of this fact.
While some people copped straight away that Mr Secco did not actually exist, some people on social media were badly caught out.
Why is everyone in the world claiming Arsenal are spending £34m on a player called 'Rex Secco'?

No idea who this Rex Secco guy is but if we're paying £34m for a 16 year old he better be bagging at least 20 a season.

Rex Secco may be made up but he still has the same number of PL goals as Sanogo…..
