In case you hadn’t heard, Liverpool are not involved in European competition this season.
That means the Premier League title contenders have a few days off before their match against West Ham United on Sunday, and they have taken the opportunity to watch a Champions League game without any added pressure.
With most of Tuesday night’s games acting as relative dead rubbers, Jürgen Klopp decided to take his squad and backroom staff to Camp Nou for Barcelona’s game against Borussia Mönchengladbach.

Four wins out of five before the visit of the Bundesliga team meant Barcelona were already through as group winners, meaning attention turned to why Klopp and co might have chosen this particular game.
In light of some recent rumours about Philippe Coutinho, some Liverpool fans began to fear the worst. And it wasn’t just Reds supporters jumping to that conclusion.

Of course, not everyone is that pessimistic, and some were daring to dream that one former Liverpool favourite might be the centre of attention.

A more realistic explanation might be nothing to do with any of Barcelona or Liverpool’s squad members, but rather one of the German club’s starting XI.
Mahmoud Dahoud has been heavily linked with a move to Anfield in the past, so was this all about the Germany Under-21 international?
He wants Dahoud.. 😂

But Klopp might have competition for his compatriot.

Anyway, we’re probably overreacting. Our guess is Klopp just wanted to treat his players to some slightly warmer weather than what they can expect back on Merseyside.
