Everyone had the same thought after Danny Welbeck doubled Arsenal’s lead over Manchester United

Well, except United fans

Ben Kiely

It may have been painful to watch for Manchester United fans, but the neutrals were all about what Danny Welbeck did after scoring Arsenal’s second.

The Gooners had only just gone 1-0 thanks to Granit Xhaka’s deflected shot off Ander Herrera’s back when former Red Devil Welbeck got his name on the scoresheet.

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain delivered a beautifully weighted cross from the right channel which found Welbeck. The striker made absolutely no mistake with the finishes, rocketing the header in off the bar past David de Gea from close range.

Then, immediately after scoring, Welbeck did what some players wouldn’t dare to do – celebrate after scoring against your former club.

He ran to the corner, put his arm around Alexis Sanchez, raised his hand in the air, blew kisses and hugged his teammates with a great smile washed across his face from ear to ear.

Why? Because he scored a bloody goal, and that’s what people do.
