Holy God, what a goal!

The ever-struggling Sunderland came to Old Trafford today and left with a 3-1 defeat.

The game’s greatest moment came in the 86th minute as substitute, Henrikh Mkhitaryan, scored an absolutely sublime, acrobatic goal to give his side a comfortable three goal cushion.

The move involved another assist from Zlatan Ibrahimovic, his second of the game, who crossed the ball into the box from the right wing.

The ball came in slightly behind Mkhitaryan, who did excellently to flick the ball into the bottom corner of the net.

Only one small problem with what is likely to be one of the greatest goals of this Premier League season… Mkhitaryan was slightly offside as the ball was played into him by Ibrahimovic.

To us, the goal was so good that it didn’t matter that the man from Armenia was a fraction offside and we weren’t the only ones who thought this.

Following the game, Jose Mourinho raved about the goal. He told the BBC:

“It’s a pity it was the third goal of the game, not one that won the match because that would’ve been in Man United history. He played for 25 minutes and played well and he’s doing great things.”

With Mkhitaryan and Michael Carrick having greater influences, United are starting to motor.

We’ll never know.
