He’s found himself in a sticky situation has John Stones.
The player, who we’re honest we don’t think is worth anything near what Everton are valuing him at, has been very publicly courted by Chelsea and Manchester United all summer.
The young England defender is one of the Premier League’s host prospects, and is seen by Chelsea as a replacement for an aging John Terry.
The Premier League champions have had several bids for the player rejected as Everton rebuffed bids of over £20million and also a bid of £30million for the player.
Roberto Martinez has repeatedly said that he is not interested in selling, but now it looks as though the club will have no choice but to take a big wad of cash after the former Barnsley man handed in a transfer request this afternoon.

The transfer deadline window closes in the coming days so there is still plenty of time for clubs such as Chelsea or even Manchester United to sort out a deal for the England U21 international.
There’s been a mixed reaction online to this evening’s news
Everton manager Roberto Martinez suggested the club's position would not change even if John Stones asked to leave – now we will see.

I see John Stones has handed in a transfer request
For me that says he no longer wants to be at Everton Football club.

Irrespective of my disappointment that a player of John #Stones' class will be leaving #EFC, let's not drag it out. £45m to you pls Jose!
