Desperate times call for desperate measures

One Everton supporter took time wasting into his own hands as Frank Lampard’s men secured an important win over Chelsea on Sunday.

The Toffees won 1-0 at Goodison Park thanks to a second-half goal from Richarlison, with the result seeing them remain in the bottom three of the Premier League, but now just two points behind nearest rivals Leeds United and Burnley with a game in hand.

Everton fan ball

Everton’s fans played a vital role in helping the team over the line, and one supporter even took measures into his own hands as he ‘helped’ his side grab the win during stoppage time of the match.

Fan takes time wasting to another level

When the match ball ended up amongst a section of the home fans, one spectator immediately grabbed it – before cheekily placing it underneath his jumper.

Although it was obvious where the ball had gone, Chelsea defender Reece James was still frantically searching for it as a new one was eventually thrown onto the pitch.

It appeared as though the supporter was going to lob the ball back in play, but he then took it from underneath his jumper and hid it by his feet, with the game resuming shortly after.

On the eve of the match at Goodison, fireworks were set off outside of the Chelsea team’s Hilton Hotel in Liverpool in an attempt to disrupt their sleep.

Pickford to the rescue

The England goalkeeper produced a sensational save to deny César Azpilicueta in the match, with Pickford somehow able to scramble to the other side of his goal to deny the Spaniard from converting from inside the penalty area.

Everton face-off against Leicester City on Sunday in their next Premier League match, hoping to move out of the relegation zone should results go the Toffees’ way.
