Several clubs are fighting for his signature.
The future whereabouts of Erling Haaland have been the topic of conversation for several months, however it could all be about to draw to a conclusion in the next fortnight.
As reported by the Daily Mail, the Borussia Dortmund forward is set to decide his next move in two week’s time, with several clubs hoping to secure the signature of the Norwegian.
Manchester City are the current favourites for his signature
Manchester City are the current favourites in the race while the likes of Paris Saint-Germain and Barcelona are also in the pipeline to sign the 21-year-old.
It was reported last month that City had discussed personal terms with the free-scoring forward and were willing to offer wages of £500,000 a week – which would make him the highest paid player in the Premier League.
City’s search for a striker has been well-documented over the last year despite their ability to score goals with ease. Last summer Pep Guardiola’s side failed with a pursuit for Tottenham Hotspur forward Harry Kane, but attention now seems to have shifted away from the England captain.
Haaland has been in prolific form for Dortmund
Haaland’s contract at Dortmund contains a £63m release clause. However, given the large sum of agent fees that will go to Mino Raiola and the 21-year-old’s father and former City player Alf-Inge Haaland, the deal is expected to reach around £100m.
The Norwegian’s rise to the top hasn’t gone unnoticed, with his scoring record one of the most prolific in world football. Haaland has scored 56 Bundesliga goals in 54 starts since his move from Red Bull Salzburg in January, 2020.
Haaland has also scored 15 goals in 17 appearances for his national team too.
