Won’t someone please think of the children?
Arsenal travel 188 miles to play Norwich this weekend and much to the chagrin of environmentalists, they will be making the journey by plane.
That flight will take just 14 minutes according to The Sun, which the paper notes would take around two and a half hours from the club’s training base by bus.
An environmental group called Plane Stupid have criticised the Gunners for their decision to fly such a short distance. A spokesperson for the group Ella Gilbert, who’s a life-long Arsenal supporter, admitted feeling embarrassed over the extremely short plane ride.
“Having lived in Norwich and Finsbury Park, I can tell you this is a distance that you can do in two hours by train, without fuelling climate change. This is ridiculous.”
“I’m a life-long Gooner so I’m used to being occasionally embarrassed by my team, but I prefer them to wait until after kick-off before humiliating their supporters.”
“Don’t fly to Norwich, the Canaries aren’t worth it.”
