Supercomputer predicts outcome of England vs France quarter final

Callum Boyle

The computer is backing a France win.

England are just days away from their World Cup quarter-final against France and it will be the team’s toughest test yet.

France beat Poland 3-1 thanks to goals from Olivier Giroud and a Kylian Mbappé brace while England comfortably beat Senegal 3-0 courtesy of strikes from Jordan Henderson, Harry Kane and Bukayo Saka.

Unfortunately for fans of the Three Lions, however, it’ll be another four years before they can dream of winning the World Cup again, at least according to a supercomputer.

As we all know, whatever the supercomputer predicts, we should believe, it never lies (except for the thousands of times it’s got stuff wrong).

According to BonusCodeBets, their supercomputer has predicted that France will emerge victorious and take on Portugal in the semi-finals.

Other predictions also include a fiery all-South American semi-final tie between Argentina and Brazil after they beat the Netherlands and Croatia respectively.

Argentina beat Australia 2-1 in which Lionel Messi continued his fine form in Qatar. Brazil’s dominant first half display against South Korea was enough to see them sail into the quarter-finals.

The Netherlands impressed in their 3-1 win against the USA however Croatia went down to the wire against Japan, eventually beating them on penalties.

Portugal were ruthless in a 6-1 hammering of Switzerland where Gonçalo Ramos – who started ahead of Cristiano Ronaldo – scored a hat trick in his first start for the country.

They will take on Morocco in the quarter-finals after they shocked the world by beating Spain on penalties following an exemplary defensive display at the back.
