It was one of the most incredible nights of European football there’s ever been.
Liverpool made the impossible possible on Tuesday night as they overturned a 3-0 Barcelona lead to defeat the LaLiga champions 4-0 in their Champions League semi-final second leg.
Divock Origi and Gino Wijnaldum grabbed a brace apiece in what was a sensational comeback that will go down in history.
Liverpool were superior throughout, with Barcelona threatening only occasionally, and showed incredible composure both up front and crucially in defence against an attack featuring the world’s best ever player.
When the final whistle finally went there were joyous scenes around Anfield, as the crowd, players and staff were allowed to finally recognise what they had done: completed possibly the greatest comeback in European football history.
During the celebrations fans and players embraced, but one of the sweeter moments came when manager Jurgen Klopp walked across the field to embrace James Milner.

The midfielder was visibly emotional, with tears running down his cheek as he hugged his joyous manager in front of a delirious crowd.
The embrace was symbolic of how much the moment meant to Liverpool, but also of the emotional toll that such a result can have on players.
It was a fitting conclusion to a memorable night, one that will go down in Liverpool history.
