Honesty is the best policy.
And for Celtic fans and players last night they are going to wake up to today, look in the mirror and realise that the club simply weren’t good enough in this year’s miserable Europa League campaign.
The Scottish Premiership champions slumped to a 2-1 home loss to Dutch giants Ajax last night to end their interest in European competition for the next nine months at least.
Incredibly in 25 European matches with Celtic, manager Ronny Deila has managed just eight wins, with four of those coming against part-time Icelandic sides.
Last night his side took the lead, but a late goal from Vaclav Cerny sealed their fate.
Striker Leigh Griffiths missed a number of chances he would normally put away at his ease, and after the game last night on Twitter he was hugely angry at his own performance and that of the team.
I can't be more apologetic than I am right now. My performance was Simply SHOCKING and ultimately its cost us dearly. 😭😭😭

Griffiths is a passionate character at the best of times but most ire was reserved for the manager Delia
Chris Sutton just displayed more passion in 5 minutes for Celtic than Delia has shown in his 18 months! #DeliaOut
