Don’t fall off your chair with shock BUT tonight Eamon Dunphy actually said something divisive.
Have you recovered from the fright of having the typically fence-sitting, placid, middle-of-the-road pundit come out of his shell? Good.
Dunphy was discussing Manchester United’s 0-0 home draw with PSV Eindhoven and the RTÉ analyst tore United asunder by claiming that their days of being considered a “big club” are well behind them.
“They’re not a big club anymore,” Dunphy said. “Manchester United is not a big club anymore.
“We’re going to watch Barcelona, we’re going to watch Bayern Munich. They’re the big clubs. Real Madrid, they’re a really big club.
“They [United] are not a big club anymore.”
