Dundalk are through to the second-round of qualifying for the Europa League.
Stephen Kenny’s side recorded a 2-1 win over Levadia Tallin at Oriel Park. Dundalk won the first-leg 1-0 and finished the job against the Estonian side on Thursday night, with Michael Duffy scoring the goal of the night.
The Dundalk winger smashed home a wonderful volley at the back post, after being teed-up by Jamie McGrath’s deft pass, to make it 2-0 on the night.
Patrick Hoban opened the scoring for the Lilywhites and the Estonians got a goal back just before half-time, but Kenny’s team held on for the win.
They’ll play Cypriot side AEK Larnaca in the next round.
Here’s Duffy’s goal:
Pick that out! What a goal from Michael Duffy. @DundalkFC lead Levadia Tallinn 2-1 at Oriel Park (3-1 on aggregate) and you'll do very well to find a better finish anywhere in Europe tonight than this peach of a volley #RTEsoccer pic.twitter.com/ArDW8MxkAt
