Easy to try at 3-0 up eh

Bayern Munich were expected to face the first real test of the new German season this afternoon when they took on Bayer Leverkusen.

Unfortunately it didn’t really turn out that way after  they romped to a 3-0 win over their rivals after winning a game without any recognised centre-backs in their starting XI.

Xabi Alonso and David Alaba were at the heart of the defence but even their unfamiliar roles were overshadowed by an outrageous flick from Brazilian Douglas Costa.

He did it when his side were 3-0 up and while it might be a tad disrespectful to his opponents –  what the hell –  it’s pretty class all the same

We’re pretty sure the move is known in these parts at least as the ‘Ardiles’ flick or the rainbow flick which gives us a chance to dig out this gem from ‘Escape to Victory’

What is also known in these parts is if you try that in any Junior League you better have a good doctor on call.
