‘Shameless.’
Some Manchester United fans have slammed the club and accused their social media account of being “disrespectful” following a tweet they posted about Donny van de Beek.
The midfielder made his 50th appearance for the club on Saturday after he came off the bench briefly during United’s 2-2 draw away to Aston Villa and the club chose to mark the occasion as they would with any player who reached a half century of games for the club.
Sharing a picture on the club’s Twitter account, at 2:37 am, they said: “A half-century of United appearances for Donny van de Beek on Saturday.”

However, the post was met with several angry responses, with many describing the club as “shameless” for posting the picture.
This is insane and the most shameless thing I’ve ever seen

Meanwhile, another supporter also hit out at the club for treating the Dutchman unfairly during his time at Old Trafford.
That is embarrassing you lot how can you say that. How many min did he play in that I wonder it’s been a disgrace how he has been treated.

Another fan chose to mock the number of minutes Van de Beek had played in those games, highlighting that former United player Daniel James had played more minutes this season for the Red Devils despite no longer being at the club.
James joined Leeds United before the transfer deadline in August, while Van de Beek has continued to mostly warm the bench at Old Trafford.
So disrespectful.Daniel James has played more minutes for us than donny https://t.co/vD0rdjbCyL

Van de Beek at Man United.
Van de Beek’s struggles at United have been well documented since his move from Ajax back in 2020, with many fans feeling the midfielder has yet to be given a chance to prove himself at the club and has been given the cold shoulder by those in charge.
The 24-year-old has made just eight Premier League appearances this season, playing just 68 minutes across those games, often restricted to bit-part cameo appearances.
After the departure of previous manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, there were hopes for Van de Beek that he would finally get the chance to prove himself after he was named in the starting XI in the game that followed the Norwegian’s departure, but under Ralf Rangnick, has endured the same frustrations of not getting minutes on the pitch.
It’s led to the Dutchman being linked with moves away from Old Trafford and previous reports have suggested that Newcastle United and Borussia Dortmund could be possible destinations for the midfielder.
