A London-based doctor has claimed he provided performance-enhancing drugs to players for three Premier League teams.
Dr Mark Bonar has apparently been secretly filmed by The Sunday Times claiming to have treated Arsenal, Chelsea and Leicester City players, although The Sunday Times say they have not been able to verify his affiliation with any of the three clubs.
Dr Bonar also claims to have provided EPO, steroids and human growth hormones to a champion British boxer, British Tour de France cyclists, an English cricketer and some tennis players.
In all, Dr Bonar told The Sunday Times that he worked with more than 150 athletes from Britain and abroad and described their improvements under his guidance as “phenomenal”.
It is worth noting that these claims have not yet been independently verified, but we expect to hear more once the full Sunday Times story is out on Sunday morning.
