From an outsider’s perspective, there must be so much confusion about this tiny little island.
Most people who call Ireland, the Republic or Northern, home have spent hours of their lives explaining the differences between the two to baffled foreigners.
But for all the differences that exist, there are just as many similarities which can actually make the whole explanation rather difficult to express.
Those conversations are likely to be echoing around France in the wee hours of the morning as both the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland are lining out at Euro 2016, with the fanbases of both well represented in France.
BBC Northern Ireland have today published a video making light of the confusion that many outsiders see when they first learn of the differences between the national teams and it’s good for a chuckle or two.
