Simeone often sprints down the tunnel after games.
Diego Simeone was struck by bottles as he ran down the tunnel at Old Trafford after Atletico Madrid knocked Manchester United out of the Champions League on Tuesday night.
The reigning LaLiga champions secured a 2-1 aggregate victory over the Red Devils, with Renan Lodi’s first-half goal enough to send Atletico into the next round.
The first-leg of the tie ended as a 1-1 draw at the Metropolitano Stadium, with youngster Anthony Elanga scoring late to salvage a draw for the Red Devils after João Félix had opened the scoring.
As the referee blew for full-time in the second-leg tie, Atletico manager Simeone, as he often does, sprinted down the touchline and headed for the dressing room.

However, as the 51-year-old was running towards the Old Trafford tunnel, he was hit by water bottles which had been launched onto the pitch by United supporters.
