Mad bast**d Diego Simeone goes mad and thumps his own official in frantic final minutes

A mighty thump

He’s a mad hoor, but Jaysus, we love him.

Diego Simeone may have to watch the Champions League final from the stands after he lost the head on the sideline in tonight’s semi-final in Germany.

The Atletico Madrid manager witnessed his team lose to Bayern Munich 2-1 on the night, but progress on away goals after Antoine Griezmann scored a crucial goal after the break.

The game was played on a knife-edge throughout the entire 90 minutes, with several hard tackles, and flare-ups, between both benches.

At one stage Franck Ribery had to restrain Simeone from attacking the Munich backroom team.

But eventually it got all too much for the ex-Argentina international, and he flipped at a Uefa official, or ‘jobsworth’, as Tommy Martin of TV3 described him as.

It reminded us of John Aldridge in the 1994 World Cup, and Simeone is probably lucky it was not a fourth official, or he would certainly be watching the Champions League final from the stands

Listen out for the uh-oh as well after the incident, which will surely be mentioned by the referee, and is likely to land the former midfielder is some trouble, even within his own club.

Although some are reporting it may well be one of his own staff, which still does make it right, it actually makes it even more bizarre.
