After taking a serious nose dive in form, Borussia Dortmund finished up their 2014/15 Bundesliga campaign in a disappointing seventh place.
One would think that a team who went from Bundesliga winners (and have been consistently second since) to mid-table fodder in the space of four seasons would result in a drop in support. However, that is not the case for Dortmund.
Last season, Borussia Dortmund trounced all other opposition in Europe for highest average attendance with In comparison, Barcelona had averaged 77,632, Manchester United had 75,335 and their league rivals FC Bayern Munich could only pack around 72,882 per game into their massive stadium.
It seems like Dortmund are going to continue this trend as remarkably, just 93 of the club's 55,000 season ticket holders opted not to renew their subscriptions for the next campaign. This just means 93 new fans on the waiting list will get the chance to support their beloved club week-in, week-out.
