Watch: Man-eating fish provides brilliant half-time entertainment at Derby’s Pride Park

Better than the Super Bowl half-time show...

Simon Lloyd

Derby fans are having it rough this season.

No goals in their first four league matches at home, and when their first goal of this Championship season *did* finally arrive at Pride Park, they didn’t have long to enjoy it.

With Blackburn Rovers the visitors, Derby got their noses in front with just over twenty minutes to go through Matej Vydra.

Five minutes later, they were 2-1 down following an equaliser from Marvin Emnes (one minute after Derby had scored) and what turned out to be the winner from Danny Graham.

While the football is thoroughly miserable for supporters of the Rams, at least they can take a crumb of comfort from the fact that their half-time entertainment is truly world-class.

Following a goalless first half, a large inflatable man-eating fish – sporting a basketball vest – wandered out on to the Pride Park playing surface.

‘Mackerel Jordan’, as he’s more commonly known, has been a big hit at basketball and baseball games over in the US for a while, and his debut in the Championship went down a treat as he ate what appeared to be one of the Derby goalkeeping coaches.
