Denis Irwin proves he still has it by re-creating famous free-kick against Liverpool

Fergie’s best ever signing.

A bag of chips and a few coppers.

Well maybe Denis Irwin cost slightly more than that but not much(£625,000 from Oldham to be exact)  as the Irishman proved to be one of the best ever full-backs in Manchester United history.

Two-footed and a quality player on either flank, the Corkman was also gifted with wonderful dead-ball technique.

Ireland benefited a few times and so did his club and none more famously than on the night of the epic 3-3 draw with Liverpool in 1994.

The game was one of the very first Premier league classics, and the former Ireland defender has re-created his famous strike ahead of a Legends game in Stockholm tomorrow evening against Liverpool.

The video also feature Bryan Robson’s epic solo goal against the Reds in the FA Cup in 1985.

Ok, so the recreations aren’t that good – they could at least have put a few plastic men in goals – but at least it gives us a chance to see both goals again.

And now we know what Irwin’s favourite United kit was.
