No fan enjoyed Croatia’s victory over Spain more than Dejan Lovren.
Croatia needed a stoppage time winner to beat Spain in their Uefa Nations League game on Thursday night and Lovren is likely still celebrating the win.
In the wake of the match at the Stadion Maksimir, Lovren took the opportunity to keep his war of words with Spain defender Sergio Ramos going.
Lovren recently kickstarted a feud with Ramos by suggesting that he is not as good a defender as some supporters make out, a dig which the Real Madrid captain refused to rise to in the build-up to Thursday’s clash.
The Croatian centre-half celebrated an elbow to Ramos by responding to a fan’s comment which asked whether it was meant as retribution for Ramos’ challenge on Lovren’s Liverpool teammate Mohamed Salah in last season’s Champions League final.
In an Instagram Live rant after the match, Lovren also mocked Spain by laughing at the 3-2 scoreline before reportedly saying: “Go ahead and talk now buddy. Buddy! They are a bunch of p******!”

Lovren clearly got a great kick out of beating Ramos in the air and celebrated the win again on Friday morning.

The win makes Croatia’s upcoming meeting with England all the more crucial as a win at Wembley could see Lovren’s team finish top of Group 4 and could also relegate England.
