Perfectly timed tweet.
David Meyler has brilliantly poked fun at Nick Powell’s fondness for Fifa 16 over watching his parent club in action.
The on-loan Hull City midfielder revealed last week that he forgot about Manchester United’s Europa League defeat to Danish side FC Midtjylland, because he was playing the football console game.
“No, I completely forgot,” Powell said. “I was playing Fifa, if I was honest.”
With United in FA Cup action on Monday evening, Powell’s new team-mate Meyler couldn’t resist the chance to make this perfectly timed joke.

But Powell shows he won’t make that same mistake again. Although we’ve no doubt which screen received more of his attention.
Can't, watching the game lad ⚽️👊🏽🎮 @DavidMeyler7 pic.twitter.com/ZpYxWqDLOw

Then James McClean weighed in. The West Brom winger played with Powell at Wigan, and says the midfielder “isn’t the brightest.”
Meyler seemed to enjoy his Ireland colleague’s tweet

But McClean showed it was all in good fun, and even managed a laugh at his own expense.
