“Doesn’t matter where he plays, he scores goals.”
David Beckham appreciates Robbie Keane more than most.
The Manchester United legend had been toiling along at LA Galaxy with no success for four years. Then a certain Irishman joined him across the pond and, bang. Two seasons together, two MLS Cups and the rest is history.
Robbie Keane was just the tonic the MLS side needed to fire them to success and the global icon has hailed the outgoing Republic of Ireland skipper, praising his “passion and love for the game”.

Keane’s decision to step down from international duty was felt the whole way through the football world and the man who has been carrying the baton of late paid the ultimate tribute to him.
Shane Long said it was an honour to learn from the country’s record goalscorer and predicted the Dubliner to finish on 70 goals for his Ireland lot.
Been an honour to know, learn from & play alongside Robbie. No doubt he'll finish it off with a hat-trick! #keano10 https://t.co/ylnOZMeOcc
