Danny Ward may not even know it.
And it’s doubtful he even cares.
And it’s not his fault.
But the young Wales netminder made it a perfect seven last night for Liverpool and their history of signing goalkeepers, and never actually playing them.
The 22-year-old came on a second-half substitute in last night’s 1-1 draw with Northern Ireland, which meant that he became the 17th international goalkeeper to walk through the doors at Melwood.
However, not only that but he is now the seventh goalkeeper in Liverpool’s Premier League history to have played more games for his country than he has for his club.
The rogue’s gallery includes some of the very oddest, very worst, and the very strange men Liverpool have had to mind the sticks for them in the last twenty odd years.
