Danny Dyer’s post-match interview with Andy Carroll is exactly what you’d expect it to be

The actor may have found his new calling in life

Movie star. Soap hunk. Documentary maker. And now, football journalist.

West Ham United’s game against Stoke City last night was not one which will live long in the collective memory.

David Moyes’ struggling Hammers side had a number of goals disallowed but fell behind to a late Peter Crouch goal, after the former England striker took advantage of a Joe Hart mistake.

The game appeared to be heading for a rare Stoke away win until Andy Carroll expertly connected with an Aaron Cresswell cross, breaking the heart of Potters manager Paul Lambert and lifting the mood at the London Stadium.

It was a stressful conclusion to an uneventful game, and one which took a particular toll on Danny Dyer, who made his journalistic debut in the form of a post-match interview with West Ham’s man of the hour.

Presented in customary flat cap and a tidy jacket, Dyer proceeded to ask Carroll a number of questions such as “Why is watching West Ham so stressful?” and “Do you think we’ll ever be as good as West Ham Ladies?” before revealing how stressed both he and his children are.

Carroll, to his credit, managed to keep a straight face for the majority of the affair in what was a resounding success as far as interviews go.

West Ham, please hire Mr. Dyer to carry out all post-match interviews in future. Thank you.
