The day before he hits the big 30, Cristiano Ronaldo tells Eurosport how he stays in such good nick
Let’s face it, you don’t end up being as good at your sport, and looking as fit as Cristiano Ronaldo does without a lot of work. But how exactly does the Real Madrid man do it.
He spoke to Eurosport and gave them a very comprehensive breakdown of his 15 top tips for mental and physical well being.
The full list can be checked out here but here are a few that stood out for us
- Set yourself goals. It will help to keep you focused and work towards something
- Proper sleep is very important. I go to bed early and I get up early.
- Mix it up. I recommend a combination of cardio (running and rowing) and weight training to ensure that workouts target all areas of the body and increase both strength and stamina.
- You can do an abs workout in your bedroom when you wake up in the morning or before you go to bed.
- Eat a high protein diet, with lots of wholegrain carbs, fruit and vegetables and avoid sugary foods.
- Drinking water is so important. I also avoid alcohol.
In summary, Ronaldo doesn’t do anything extraordinary, he just does an awful lot of little things and he does them with a rigid strictness that ensures he gets the most from his body.
His plan is a great guideline for any one, but if you play sport at any level, it looks like a real blueprint for success.
